About Stacey Schultz-Cherry

Dr. Stacey Schultz-Cherry earned her BS from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and PhD from the University of Alabama-Birmingham before returning to Wisconsin to complete her postdoctoral training in influenza virology. After spending 5 years as a lead scientist at the USA, she was a tenured associate professor at the University of Wisconsin.  She brought her pioneering research program on viruses to St. Jude in 2009. An internationally renowned investigator, Dr. Schultz-Cherry serves as the deputy director of the World Health Organization Influenza Collaborating Center and co-director for the NIAID-funded Center for Excellence in Influenza Research and Response and NIAID-Collaborative Influenza Vaccine Innovation Center.
